Artist Statement:
The State of Being begins an exploration of body dysmorphia, queer reckoning and identity questioning. The figure is an alien without their home and lost within familiar surroundings. Commonplace fabrics bind and restrict the figure - obscuring them. Everything is questioned, everything is a threat.
